Last year we have been overwhelmed with 20,813 votes for our Brand of the Year competition, in association with ITV and Marketing magazine. Attendees at our Annual Dinner at Old Billingsgate voted live to select John Lewis from five finalists – Hiscox, Foster’s, Help for Heroes and British Airways. The John Lewis story in 2011 is one to warm the cockles: an 18% bonus was awarded to every staff member, sending a charge of optimism through the Partnership and the marketing world at large. The Christmas television advert is currently bringing a tear to the eyes of mums and dads – and Scrooges – across Britain. Watch it here.
